Hi Monty. I'm really sorry to hear that. I can't pretend to know what will go through someone's mind in your situation, but I just hope you can run all of the great times you've had with family and friends throughout your life, through your mind. Remember the places you've been and the things that made you laugh. Remember all of the good things you did for other people - and do it knowing that they will remember them too. Life is too short and death comes to us all. I hope you are able to face yours with peace in your mind and a calmness in your heart.

My thoughts are with you and your family.

Monty that's awful to hear. From all at the GersForum team, we thank you for being part of the gang here over the years and I am glad you've enjoyed the community. We wish you all the best for the short time you have and hope that you are comfortable and well looked after with your family near when the time comes. We will be here for them when you are not.

Puts into perspective all our other moans and groans
Extremely sad reading your post but it's nice to know that at least the forum has given you some comfort and companionship

Hi All,

It has been a long time since I visited this site, but it is with great sadness I have to let you know my dad passed away early yesterday morning.

He hung on longer than anyone thought and fought so hard against his disease. He was a stronger and braver man than I ever realised.

He asked me to make sure you guys were aware, so that tells you how much this place meant to him, even if he didn't post very often.

Not really sure how to end this, but I hope you are all well.

Thanks,

David

I'm really sorry to hear the news, but I hope you can take some comfort from the fact that your Dad is now at peace and free of any suffering.

My thoughts are with you and your family.

David, just catching up with this awful news. As if times weren't hard enough for everyone at the moment you have the loss of your dad to deal with as well. I hope you are able to remember him in the best possible way just now and in the fullness of time. It was a pleasure to have him here and hopefully he was able to take some comfort from the good wishes from all of the members of the GF. We're here for you if you need us.

Monty must have been one of the GF originals.

RIP Sir.
